God Bless Our Troops

Little by little I am beginning to get my sense of smell back. Last night the Tweetlebugs were over and they took a bath with a bar of lemongrass - and I could smell it a little bit. I couldn't play for the Community Band rehearsal, though, because every time I took a deep breath, I started hacking.

I'm going to package up some batches of soap that have been curing for a few weeks. Next week I need to get busy and start measuring out oils for next year's soap batches. Measuring oils is my least favorite part of soapmaking so I measure enough for about 2 dozen batches at a time. That usually gets me through the year.

Word of the day:
Tuesday of the Fifth week of Easter
Today the Church celebrates : Pancras, Nereus & Achilleus
Gospel
Jn 14:27-31a

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
You heard me tell you,
'I am going away and I will come back to you.'
If you loved me,
you would rejoice that I am going to the Father;
for the Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you this before it happens,
so that when it happens you may believe.
I will no longer speak much with you,
for the ruler of the world is coming.
He has no power over me,
but the world must know that I love the Father
and that I do just as the Father has commanded me."

It's always good to get those least favorite jobs out of the way early. Makes the rest of life more enjoyable.
