God Bless Our Troops

Yesterday was my first Maddie day.
Of course we had to start the day off with a mini photo shoot.

Tonight we finish (I hope) the final mix on our choir CD. The response has been pretty good. We have sold about 40 so far and we haven't even really tried. The formal announcement will be in a couple of weeks. I am puzzled, however, by the supreme disinterest of one person. After hearing umpty-million times about how we had better break even on this venture, this same person doesn't seem to be all that interested in the progress. Maybe he's heard me talk about it too much, but then I heard the "we'd better break even" lecture more than I cared to also. Oh well, I'm excited. We all worked hard on this and it is gratifying to see that the parishioners are excited about it too.

I have to finish up some stocking orders today, and make a few batches of candles. Plus, I have a lot of Flylady work to do. Got a little off track yesterday. What would you rather do - clean a fridge or make a baby laugh? LOL!

Word of the day:
Wednesday of the Twenty-third week in Ordinary Time
Today the Church celebrates : St. Peter Claver,Priest (1580-1654)
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 6:20-26.

Raising his eyes toward his disciples Jesus said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for the Kingdom of God is yours.
Blessed are you who are now hungry,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who are now weeping,
for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you,
and when they exclude and insult you,
and denounce your name as evil
on account of the Son of Man.

Rejoice and leap for joy on that day!
Behold, your reward will be great in heaven.
For their ancestors treated the prophets
in the same way.

But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation.
But woe to you who are filled now,
for you will be hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will grieve and weep.
Woe to you when all speak well of you,
for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.”
