God Bless Our Troops

It's a gorgeous day today. The coming week has lots to keep me busy. I have 32 boxes of fudge to make for the Highland Festival, tomorrow we get our taxes done. (Yeah, we are late every year), we have our first rehearsal to get ready to record our choir CD,we need to do a dry run on setting our tent up for the festival, several meetings for one thing or another, and getting our setup ready for the festival. It's supposed to be cool next weekend so we will be taking our fudge.

I wish everyone could enjoy this beautiful day. There are some people in the world who just seem to thrive on sucking every last bit of joy out of the air. I feel sad for people like this because they don't see themselves that way and they don't ever seem to be happy. I will pray for these people this morning when I go out for my walk. Matthew 6:34.

Not sure what's on tap today with the family - hopefully we'll get together sometime during the day.

Word of the day:
Sixth Sunday of Easter
Today the Church celebrates : St. Paschal Baylon
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15:9-17.

As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.
