God Bless Our Troops

Quiet has decended upon the household. Each year it gets a little harder for me to let go of the hustle and bustle that is our house on Christmas night. The only downside this year was that Justin was sick, so he isn't in our family picture. He's feeling better today which is the most important thing.

Anna, Nicola, and I went up town to look for bargains. I got a few groceries and stocked up on some supplies for the business. It's not so frantic a search for deals since I make most of the gifts I give. Afterward, we went to lunch at Bennigans and ran into one of our neighbors and her daughter who were shopping too. It was just a lazy, relaxed morning. Now everyone has headed home and I'm headed to church for Saturday night mass. Time goes by so quickly.

Word of the day:
Saint Stephen, first martyr - Feast
Today the Church celebrates : St. Stephen, the first martyr
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10:17-22.

But beware of people, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.
