God Bless Our Troops

Okay, so I order a couple of rugs from my friend Janet on Etsy. (Yes, I ordered a second rug). I was so inspired by her beautiful rugs that I decided to resurrect an old craft. I have made rugs in the past as I mentioned before, but they never seemed to be completed. I would start one and then overthink it it, get tired of it, and then relegate it to a closet. Last week I decided to try again - inspired by Janet's beautiful rugs. My first one I gave to my niece at our birthday celebration. For the last few years a beautiful teal comforter and sheet set has been commuting back and forth between the attic and the guest bedroom. Despite being beautiful, it just didn't work in any of the bedrooms. I think it once belonged to my sister-in-law who didn't want it any longer. For some reason I just haven't been able to get rid of it.

Last week Harold decided we needed to re-insulate the attic so down came the comforter and sheets again. Hmmmmmmmmm
The tail is still on it because I haven't finished it yet.  I really didn't need to awaken an old addiction.  I am now headed up to Good Will.   LOL!

Word of the day:
Thursday of the Sixth week in Ordinary Time
Saint(s) of the day : St. Onesimus, Disciple of St. Paul, Blessed John de Britto, martyr (+1693)
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 8:27-33.

Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, «Who do people say that I am?»
They said in reply, "John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets."
And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter said to him in reply, "You are the Messiah."
Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him.
He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days.
He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."
