I made cranberry soap last night and finished 6 stockings. I have 7 more to do from that batch and another 4 for an order that came in this morning. So far it's been a very productive season. :)

Staff meeting this morning, then I have to stop at the quilt shop because I won't be able to make Monday's meeting. I have done absolutely no quilting since September. Once the stocking season and the craft shows are behind us, I'll have more time.

Today I need to get something done in the way of cleaning, I have to make a couple batches of Chex mix and I need to cut and package more fudge.

Kind of a lazy morning (but that has to end soon because I have a lot to do). Today is early post office closing day so I need to get some orders packaged up to mail. Then on to Sam's club to pick up some water for my favorite youngest daughter. I have 13 stocking orders pending and I am out of reindeer stockings. Gotta get some of those done so Melisa can sew them up. I poured some tarts and made some room sprays last night. Our craft show inventory switches from fall to Christmas (with some overlap because it actually is still fall so I need to finalized the inventory for the rest of our shows.

Don't know if the hubster remembers or not, but this is the anniversary of the day we met - 35 years ago. My, how time flies.

Today is a Maddie day and her cousin Claire is here to visit her. Claire loves to dance to music. Her favorite music is the Vacation Bible School tape from last summer. She was too little to go last year but she is looking forward to going this coming summer.

I'm up early today. I think the time change has my body mixed up.
We didn't have many Trick or Treaters on Halloween, but here are my 3 favorite goblins. We had spiderman, a bunny, and a little strawberry!



Today is a Maddie day. Maddie and I will be doing some cleaning. The house is a wreck due to an insane week last week. The craft show went well, but it's a different crowd than we're used to. Sales were up 24% from last year, but we need to make some adjustments for this particular show for next year.

Now that it is November, it's time to bring out the Christmas scents - cranberry, Christmas tree, Gingerbread - Mmmmmmmmm

Packaged up a lot of primitive candle lamps and some potpourri. Tonight I'm making pure olive oil soap. I should have made it a lot sooner. The people who want this kind of soap tend to buy lots of it at a time. It takes about 6 weeks to cure. I also discovered that I am short of cranberry soap so tomorrow I'm going to have to make some so that it's cured by the time I sell what I have. Cranberry is my favorite Christmas scent. I also made a batch of cranberry jar candles.

Craft show today. I am hoping that this show brings us out of the red. Stocking orders are coming in again and I think once November hits, we will be swamped with them! The girls and I agree that if we do 5 craft show weekends in a row, we will need to do some summer planning. :)

I got 6 stockings done yesterday. That leaves seven to finish. I have to go in to the office today to finish up the "Saints" wall for this weekend. It's really hard to believe that November comes this weekend. I hope I won't have to be there too long because I have a ton of stuff to do before Saturday's craft show. I also have to make a stop to stock up on Goblin Food for Saturday.

I got yesterday's mission done and did a little online Christmas shopping.

Flylady's Holiday Mission #7

After I posted the link to Flylady's video, I never got a chance to get back here. Today was a Maddie day, and then Clayton and Claire decided that going shopping with Mommy was boring and they would rather come to Grandma's house so it was a fun Grandma-Grandkids morning. After Maddie went home, I had to go up to the church to work on the names for the Saints wall. Every year on All Saint's day we put up the names of parishioners who have died the previous year.

Didn't get much done craft-wise, but I did make a dent in the laundry, dishes, and taxes. I am just about caught up on the Sugar Bush Primitive taxes, but the farm taxes are another story. They are not fun.

Wow, yesterday's craft show went very well. We had misgivings at first because our setup was awkward, but once things got moving, we did great. Business was very brisk until around 1:30 or so which is the norm for most craft shows. I think people plan their morning around craft shopping and end with lunch. Then, after lunch, the crafters take advantage of the slow down to do their own shopping. I will have my work cut out for me with re-stocking the primitives. I have some Ebay orders to fill also, not to mention the Christmas stockings that have to be made and shipped. I love this time of year!

Evening update:
Spent the day steaming and packaging stockings to ship. Finished a couple more that needed sewing, packed up the Ebay orders, poured a grubby Scarecrow and did a cinnamon oil rub on it. Haven't gotten a chance to re-stock anything from yesterday's show. We are getting a lot of orders off of Ebay this year (aside from the usual stocking orders) and that's neat because I love making candles and soap, but there is only so much room for it here. Eventually all of those things need to find loving homes.

We sold a few more choir CDs this morning. We won't make our goal of selling out by the 27th, but that's okay. Once the people who have bought them start listening to them the word will spread about what a great CD it is.

Good morning all. I have 2 batches of maple fudge to make today; one with nuts and one without. I have a bonus day with Miss Maddie McDoogle, but she is snoozing at the moment. Lots of stuff to get done before our first craft show of the season which is on Saturday. I feel very unprepared, but tomorrow I will spend the day getting inventory ready and that should help. Today I have a large order of room spray to get ready.

Busy day ahead. The guys are combining soys, the girls are packaging mixes, and I am doing stockings. I have 10 to do, and then I have to steam those and the 10 I did the other day. All those have to be packaged and shipped out tomorrow. Then we got another large order of room sprays so tomorrow night I will be making more room spray.

It's a beautiful fall morning. I got out on the road early today because a radio turned itself on at 6:16 this morning. Hmmmmmm
Anyway, I needed to be up because tonight is our bonfire to celebrate our CD. They are due to arrive at the church office today!!!

At the moment I have a pot of maple cream fudge boiling on the stove. Lately I have had issues with it not hardening like it should. I also haven't been using my special fudge pot. So today I have my fudge pot and a candy thermometer.

Yesterday I did some inventory for our craft shows. Made a lot of room sprays. Next week I'll pour more candles and tarts.

Tons of stuff to do today. I'll breathe a lot easier when this week is over. I got virtually no cleaning done yesterday, but I did get a lot of stockings done - 3 more and I'll be caught up. I have to go to the eye doctor today. I can't really afford the time, but the last time I was there, the eye doctor found cataracts and I think it's getting to the point that they have to be removed.

I have a batch of maple creme fudge to make and I may try to make a batch of maple walnut so I tomorrow will be free to get ready for the choir party. The CDs will be in - whoo hoo!!! I was hoping they would get here in time to give them out at the party.

Woke up to find several stocking orders this morning. Guess what I'll be doing today. :) Little Maddie McDoogle will be here soon. I'll get her to help me. She started on cereal today so she should have lots of energy.

It's funny how people seem to start gearing up for Christmas in mid-October. I know that October 15 is when I start looking at my plans. It always seems so early, but the next thing I know it's the middle of December and I'm behind the eight ball. Not this year. (Of course I say that every year.)

Today I'm going to test a new fudge flavor. We usually stick to our basics, but this one sounded really good for fall - Pumpkin Pie. Anna is gong to take some to work where there are lots of willing taste testers.

The time frame for our CD is October 13-20 so they should be arriving any day now!

It's 28 degrees out this morning. I have a Harvest Home tester burning and the house smells wonderful. Harold and the guys went fishing and I'm fairly well caught up on stockings so I think I'm going to have me a quilting day, by golly!

I got home from church yesterday to find that Anna had dropped off some of the supplies she had bought for the making of the fudge. Piles and piles of white chocolate and peanut butter chips. Mmmmmm

There was a family wedding yesterday and Anna babysat little Maddie McDoogle. Of course that meant a photo shoot. Here are a couple of gems from last night.

It's a real challenge to get pics of her laughing because the camera has a delay. You almost have to anticipate the laughter. Anna did a good job.

Today is my last free Saturday for a while. We have our family apple butter day next Saturday and then the craft shows begin. I'm just about caught up on stocking orders which means a new onslaught will occur. :)

Today I need to package up a wedding gift and do a little more inventory for our show on the 24th. I also need to finish the sample stockings I'm doing since we will be taking orders at that show. We don't usually sell many stockings at shows and I'm not quite sure why, but we're going to try one more time just to see how it goes. November is usually pretty steady with stockings and by November 30, we have to turn people away. It always goes that way. I guess people don't really get in the Christmas groove until after Thanksgiving.

I have mass this morning. Then I have to pick up a few things for the Sugar Bush. I start the fudge next week and I noticed that I'm low on some of the supplies. More stockings to make today. I got 5 done yesterday and I have an order for 5 more as soon as I find out what the lady wants on them.

Lots to do today. I have to get some stockings made because next week I'll be in the fudge! I also have to check the inventory for our shows and start packing up the travel carts that we will be taking with us. Plus the house is a wreck. I wasted too much time on dumb stuff so I am going to limit my facebook time to 15 minutes. I sit down at the computer intending to just check orders and the website and the next thing you know I'm planting sunflowers in FarmVille. Enough! LOL!

Later today I'll be pouring some more of our grungy Harvest Home candles. I love the scent of Harvest Home!!!
