God Bless Our Troops

So ya think you're stressed. Imagine that you are the Parish Manager of a parish in which the church building has a history of leaks. Imagine that the parish spent a lot - and I mean a lot - of money to completely cover all of the stained glass over the sanctuary so that the roof wouldn't leak. Now imagine that on a peaceful Christmas Eve day you wander over to the church to make sure everything is ready for the 2 masses that will be celebrated later that evening. You are greeted by the sight of a leak right smack dab in front of the Nativity Scene. Let us all take a moment and bow our heads in prayer for Sabina as she prepares to break the news to El Pastor.

Anna will be coming over later because she is worried about getting snowed in on Christmas.

I had a fairly productive day yesterday. I didn't get everything done, but I made a large dent in the list. Now I am going to dig in and get the rest done. The marathon begins. Updates provided as progress is made.

Word of the day:
Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Advent
Gospel
Lk 1:67-79

Zechariah his father, filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied, saying:

“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
for he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty Savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his prophets he promised of old
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hand of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.
In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

God bless our troops!
