I received some really bad news yesterday. One of our former students jumped to her death off of the Mackinac Bridge on December 12. I've known Brandi since she was a baby, but the times I remember best are those days when she would come into my office, sit cross-legged on the floor, and tell me what was going on in her life. She was incredibly intelligent, very sensitive, and struggling to define herself. College changed her - and she was exposed to the college culture at a very early age thanks to dual enrollment. She was beginning to find her way back. I hope this sweet little soul is at peace. I wish she could have known how incredibly loved she is.

When the men came to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'" At that time he cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits; he also granted sight to many who were blind. And he said to them in reply, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me."
