It's been a long, long time since I have updated and I figured I should probably post something. Life has been busy with 7 grandkids in the mile and one just an hour away. I sort of retired from my job as co-director of music at the church so I am now solely the weekend organist. I haven't noticed an abundance of free time yet. In April I purchased a sit-down quilting machine. I figured since my last little charge would be starting school in the fall, I would go back to quilting.
There is a bit of a learning curve, but I found a facebook group that has been a font of knowledge.  One of the ladies makes tutorials to teach us.  This was my "homework" on one of the weeks.
















 No sooner did I set up the machine when Sam and Kelli stopped in to tell us they were expecting twins. Kyle Lenard and Jace Joseph - identical twins - joined the family on July 3. Their big sisters are totally thrilled.


   

Of course they needed John Deere quilts since their daddy is a farmer.  I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the quilts before I let them leave the house.  But here are the boys at one month on their quilts.  

I have recently spent more time making rugs since I have finally perfected my pattern.

Then I thought I would make a photo pillow.   I am not a super great photographer, but every now and then I snap a really good picture.  This was take the day after Thanksgiving a couple of years ago.  Claire, Maddie, and Meghan had spent the night.  At that time we had some young Amish men building a lean-to on our barn.  Harold called out that the buggy was coming up the road.  The girls ran to the couch to look out the window and I got this shot just as the buggy was coming up our driveway.  I couldn't have gotten a better picture if I had posed this.  By the way, the buggy had no shield and it was below zero that day.
