Yesterday
was a busy day. I priced all of our odd weight soaps for the festival this weekend. I made a batch of Chocolate Peanut Butter fudge - but I wasted a batch because I mistakenly thought it would be okay to make it in something other than my special fudge pot. Lesson learned. Now I have to go to town and get evaporated milk because that left me one can short. That's okay because I have to mail a package. Yesssss!!!!!!!!!! I got my second soap order off of Etsy.
It's been a real treat trying to work in the basement. I am so thankful that this is not the first time it has taken on major water because all of our stuff is on plastic platforms. I would have been one very unhappy camper if our inventory had been ruined. That puzzling part is that Harold spent a lot of time last year trying to prevent this very thing. We dug a new tile and put in drains, but still we have water. I am so glad that I didn't trust the basement to be dry and took precautions against the water.
I cut up the Prairie Rose soap. It's good soap, but a bit cosmetically challenged so it will go for a sale price on Etsy. If you click on the pics, you can see a closeup of the imperfections. Because this batch accelerated so quickly, I had to get it in the molds fast. It has a very nice scent so I am going to have be sure that everything is ready to go the next time I make it. I didn't have my piping bag ready and I was stressed the day I made it so next time I will make sure I am in my "soap zone" before I attempt it again.
I mixed lye water for a batch of soap I had planned to make last night, but I think I will wait until my work for the day is done and all the bins are loaded for the craft show.

The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place along the way, and how they had come to recognize him in the breaking of bread.
While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."
But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have."
And as he said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed, he asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
They gave him a piece of baked fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled."
Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures.
And he said to them, "Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day
and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
